Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh is expanding the use of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan to improve the planning and execution of infrastructure projects, with a focus on reducing delays, strengthening interdepartmental coordination and ensuring timely implementation.
The platform brings together data from multiple departments, enabling authorities to assess infrastructure requirements, available resources and potential bottlenecks before projects begin. Uttar Pradesh has integrated 29 mandatory data layers and introduced or integrated 56 additional departmental layers, covering areas such as roads, power, transport, land and social infrastructure.
More than 100 officials from various departments and districts recently attended a meeting at the Invest UP office in Lucknow to discuss the practical application of the platform. Representatives from Public Works, Energy, UPEIDA, Health, Education and Skill Development participated, with discussions focusing on translating integrated planning into faster on-ground execution.
Under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment scheme, more than 32 infrastructure projects costing over ₹2,150 crore have been implemented in the state. The shared planning framework is helping agencies coordinate their work and minimise avoidable delays.

Infrastructure projects costing more than ₹100 crore are required to be considered under PM Gati Shakti. District-level planning mechanisms are operational across all 75 districts, over 2,000 officials have received training, and more than 26 applications have been developed to support project planning and monitoring.
The platform is also being used beyond major construction projects. Applications include the ‘Pahunch’ education planning tool, alignment planning for Lucknow Metro Phase 1B and land identification for Annapurna Bhawans.
With expressway, railway and air connectivity expanding under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, integrated planning is becoming increasingly important. By combining data, technology and departmental coordination, PM Gati Shakti is helping Uttar Pradesh make better-informed decisions and move infrastructure projects from planning towards effective implementation.
